Osc2nuke project - combination of two great open source projects!
osc2nukenukeevangelist writes "Osc2nuke Project

osc2nuke is the combination of two opensource products, phpnuke CMS and oscommmerce shopping cart. osc2nuke fills the gap between those two worlds and grant to the project users access to phpnuke themes, modules and blocks while it also makes possible the installation of oscommmerce ressources.

NukeScripts(tm) to close
Announcements On Dec 31st 2008 at 23:59:59 NukeScripts(tm) will close. It has become increasing upsetting to see NSN code appearing in more and more scripts that the "owners" claim they have written themselves. Add that to the just about no donations aside from those generated from client work.

I have decided that it just isn't worth the time, money, or headaches anymore. On Jan 1st 2009 at 00:00:00 NukeSentinel(tm) will become my one and only full time project aside from the afore mentioned clients.

I have, believe it or not, enjoyed helping the Nuke communicty for the last 7 years. Like other top coders in the community I have endured the slings and arrows thrown by the fb die hards. Unlike many I stayed being determined not to give in to the crap.

Well folks, my crap meter has finially topped out. I've taken time off, I've tried to pray through everything, laugh when no one else was laughing. The community is not what it once was. A few coders have banded together, like raven and the gang there, to continue improving the community.

Have to say I'm proud to be part of the RVN team and proud to keep updating NukeSentinel(tm) to protect the community. I'm giving it a year for a good clear reason. Things may improve enough that I feel that it would be worth staying around for a while longer. If that happens then I would keep the place open.

I'm just getting to old and tired to play kiddy games with the kiddies and I'm sorry to say that but it is true. To all the friends I have made, Thank You. To those I have yet to make, Thank You. To those that take and never give, Screw You!

Microsoft releases tools to boost Web accessibility
Microsoftnb1 writes "Microsoft on Thursday is expected to release a new set of developer tools for products that improve the Internet's accessibility for people with disabilities. The tools, called UI Automation, can be used royalty-free, according to Microsoft's Windows Accessibility lead Norm Hodne, as long as the resulting applications are built to perform within all platforms, e.g. Windows or Linux.

Microsoft formally donated the UI (user interface) Automation developer tools to the Accessibility Interoperability Alliance (AIA), an engineering working group that the software giant helped form last November in partnership with tech companies like Oracle, Novell, Hewlett-Packard and Adobe Systems, as well as assistive-technology developers like GW Micro. The working group's mission is to pave the way for standards in the industry for text-to-speech software, screen readers and other assistive products

IP to Country Updates
NukeSentinel (tm)I'm preparing to release this weeks ip2c dump in a few hours. For now you can see for yourselves the massive changes that are taking place by going to the NukeSentinel(tm) test site. You will have to make sure it comes up with the index.php in the url otherwise you will not be able to get to it. This is the only publicly accessable page on the site. On this page you will see a master grid of all 256 "A" classes. and the month/year it was overhauled.

As you can tell most of the work has been done over the last four months but I have coded a script that should allow me to update all of them by the end of Febuary. And hopefully shortly after that I will be able to include a way for all webmasters to do a one click update of all 256 "A" classes right from their admin panel. I have to give the webmaster over at United Federation of Trek a big thanks for the huge amount of IP2C data they have supplied over the past months.

On the final note to this posting, IP2Country updates will only be released as full updates since so many "A" classes are changing so very much. But like I said I hope to make it so that you don't need to download updates from here but get them directly from the RIR's themselves.
